Overview

AiPrise verifies Taiwanese businesses against the company register of the Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA). A business verification returns the company profile, the representative's name, and directors, supervisors and shareholders.

Send the Unified Business Number as business_entity_id, with country_code set to TW.

You can also search by legal name, but searching by number is more reliable.

Statuses and legal forms

Every result carries the register's own status in registration_info.status and an AiPrise status in registration_info.normalised_status. The normalised status is one of Active, Suspended, Dormant, Dissolved / Struck Off, In Liquidation / Insolvency or Unknown.

entity_type is always company, so it does not tell you the legal form.

Quirks and gotchas

Country-specific behaviour to know before you integrate.

Quirk	Details
Search by number	Name search often misses the company. The 8-digit Unified Business Number finds it reliably.
No legal form	`entity_type` is `company` for every result. Read the legal name for the form.
Representative is a field	The representative's name comes back as a company field, not as a related person.
Supervisors are UNKNOWN	`Supervisors` and `Independent Director` come back with the normalised role `UNKNOWN`. `President` normalises to `CONTROLLING_PERSON`.

Limits

Officers and shareholders are not returned for every company.
UBOs and register documents are not returned.
