Companies with a Japanese Corporate Number are covered. The legal form is not returned as a separate field.

Statuses and legal forms

Every result carries the register's own status in registration_info.status and an AiPrise status in registration_info.normalised_status. The normalised status is one of Active, Suspended, Dormant, Dissolved / Struck Off, In Liquidation / Insolvency or Unknown.

Every Japanese result in production had the status Active. entity_type is empty, so read the legal name for the form (for example 株式会社, Kabushiki Kaisha).

Quirks and gotchas

Country-specific behaviour to know before you integrate.

Quirk	Details
Send the Corporate Number	Name search can rank a dealer or subsidiary above the parent company. The 13-digit Corporate Number finds the right company.
No legal form	`entity_type` is empty. The form is part of the legal name.
Registration date often missing	About 1 in 8 results have a registration date.
Few people	Officers and shareholders are not returned. A representative director comes back for a few companies only.

Limits

Officers, shareholders and UBOs are not returned, apart from a representative director for some companies.
The company profile document is ordered on request, not returned with the verification.
