Identifiers
Send the CRO number as business_entity_id, with country_code set to IE.
| Identifier | Format | Example |
|---|---|---|
| CRO number | 5 or 6 digits | 123456 |
| VAT number | IE followed by 7 digits and 1 or 2 letters. Used only for the VAT check. | IE1234567T |
You can also search by legal name.
Statuses and legal forms
Every result carries the register's own status in registration_info.status and an AiPrise status in registration_info.normalised_status. The normalised status is one of Active, Suspended, Dormant, Dissolved / Struck Off, In Liquidation / Insolvency or Unknown.
| Register status | Normalised status |
|---|---|
| Active | Active |
| Inactive | Dormant |
Legal forms come back as the CRO writes them in entity_type, for example LTD - Private Company Limited by Shares, DAC - Designated Activity Company and Business name - Individual.
Quirks and gotchas
Country-specific behaviour to know before you integrate.
| Quirk | Details |
|---|---|
| Business names | About 1 in 4 results are registered business names (sole traders, partnerships, trading names of companies), not companies. The owner comes back as Registered Business Owner, normalised role UNKNOWN. |
| Parent companies | Some results list the immediate or ultimate parent company as a related party. |
Inactive is Dormant | Inactive maps to Dormant, not to Dissolved / Struck Off. |
Limits
- UBOs are not returned.
- Shareholders come from the latest annual return, so recent changes may not show yet.
