Overview
AiPrise verifies Malaysian businesses against the Companies Commission of Malaysia (SSM). A business verification returns the company profile, directors, company secretaries and shareholders, and for registered businesses, the owners or partners.

Statuses and legal forms
Every result carries the register's own status in registration_info.status and an AiPrise status in registration_info.normalised_status. The normalised status is one of Active, Suspended, Dormant, Dissolved / Struck Off, In Liquidation / Insolvency or Unknown.

Legal forms come back in entity_type: companies show LIMITED BY SHARES, and registered businesses show Trade Name or Personal Name.
Quirks and gotchas
Country-specific behaviour to know before you integrate.

| Two kinds of record | About 3 in 4 results are companies (EXISTING, LIMITED BY SHARES). The rest are registered businesses (Trade Name or Personal Name), which have owners instead of directors and shareholders. |
| Expired businesses | A registered business that was not renewed shows EXPIRED (normalised Suspended). About 1 in 10 results are like this. |
| Owners are not UBOs | Owners of registered businesses come back with the normalised role ULTIMATE_BENEFICIAL_OWNER. Companies have no UBO data. |
| Secretaries are legal representatives | Company secretaries come back with the normalised role LEGAL_REPRESENTATIVE. |
| Old company numbers | The old-format company number is returned next to the 12-digit number, so you can match older records. |
Limits
- UBOs and articles of association are not returned.
- Documents are ordered on request, not returned with the verification.
