AiPrise verifies Peruvian businesses by their RUC against the tax administration (SUNAT). A business verification returns the company profile, activity codes, managers and legal representatives when listed, and background checks on the company.

Statuses and legal forms

Every result carries the register's own status in registration_info.status and an AiPrise status in registration_info.normalised_status. The normalised status is one of Active, Suspended, Dormant, Dissolved / Struck Off, In Liquidation / Insolvency or Unknown.

Quirks and gotchas

Country-specific behaviour to know before you integrate.

Quirk	Details
Send the RUC, not a name	The lookup runs on the RUC in `tax_identification_number`.
`found` status	The status is `found` when the RUC exists. It maps to `Active`; the register's own status (for example a suspended or cancelled RUC) does not come back.
No address or legal form	The registered address and the legal form are not returned. Collect them in your onboarding flow.
Role names in Spanish	Roles come back as SUNAT writes them, for example `GERENTE GENERAL` (general manager), `TITULAR-GERENTE` (owner-manager) and `APODERADO` (attorney-in-fact).

Limits

Shareholders, beneficial owners and register documents are not available.
The registered address and the legal form are not returned.
