Quirks and gotchas

Country-specific behaviour to know before you integrate.

QuirkDetails
Many sole tradersAbout 1 in 3 businesses are sole traders (IMPRESA INDIVIDUALE). They are often sent with the owner's 16-character codice fiscale instead of an 11-digit number.
Three kinds of numberThe 11-digit tax code / partita IVA, the REA number (MI - 123456) and a sole trader's personal codice fiscale all identify a business.
inattiva spelt two waysinattiva maps to Dormant, but Impresa INATTIVA and INATTIVA map to Unknown.
Roles are not always normalisedRoles such as Sole Director and Sole Shareholder can come back with the normalised role UNKNOWN. Read the role name.

Limits

  • UBOs are not returned.
  • Articles of association and financial statements come back only when filed.
