AiPrise verifies Panamanian businesses against the Public Registry of Panama (Registro Público de Panamá). A business verification returns the company profile, directors and officers, the resident agent, subscribers, and the registry's company report when available.

Send the folio number (ficha) as business_entity_id or the RUC as tax_identification_number, with country_code set to PA.

Statuses and legal forms

Every result carries the register's own status in registration_info.status and an AiPrise status in registration_info.normalised_status. The normalised status is one of Active, Suspended, Dormant, Dissolved / Struck Off, In Liquidation / Insolvency or Unknown.

Legal forms come back as the register writes them in entity_type, for example SOCIEDAD ANONIMA, FUNDACIÓN PRIVADA and SOCIEDAD DE RESPONSABILIDAD LIMITADA.

Quirks and gotchas

Country-specific behaviour to know before you integrate.

Quirk	Details
Two statuses only	The registry status `vigente` becomes `ACTIVE`; anything else becomes `INACTIVE` (`Dormant`). A dissolved company therefore shows `Dormant`, not `Dissolved / Struck Off`.
Name search takes the first match	A name search uses the registry's first result. Send the folio or RUC for an exact match.
Officers carry their office	Directors come back as `Director / Presidente`, `Director / Secretario` or `Director / Tesorero`. The resident agent (`Agente Residente`) and subscribers (`Suscriptor`) are listed alongside them.
Subscribers are not shareholders	Subscribers are the founders who signed the articles. Current shareholders are not returned, so collect them in your onboarding flow.

Limits

Current shareholders and beneficial owners are not available.
The company report is not available for every company.
