State registrations, officers, documents and EIN checks for US businesses

Overview

AiPrise verifies US businesses against the Secretary of State registry of each state. A business verification returns the company profile, its registrations in every state where it is registered, officers and registered agents, and state documents. Separate checks match the EIN with the IRS and verify the business address.

Most documents come back with the verification. The few that the state has to produce arrive later, so use callbacks instead of waiting on the verification response. These are typical times from production, not a service-level commitment: set timeouts well above them.

Registered agents are listed as peopleRegistered agents come back in related_persons with the role REGISTERED AGENT. Filter by role if you only want officers.

  • Documents that a state has to produce on request can take hours.
  • Sole proprietors are covered only when registered with a Secretary of State.
