Overview
AiPrise verifies Brazilian businesses by their CNPJ against the Federal Revenue Service (Receita Federal) register. A business verification returns the company profile, activity codes, partners and administrators, and background checks on the company.

Send the CNPJ as tax_identification_number, with country_code set to BR.

Statuses and legal forms
Every result carries the register's own status in registration_info.status and an AiPrise status in registration_info.normalised_status. The normalised status is one of Active, Suspended, Dormant, Dissolved / Struck Off, In Liquidation / Insolvency or Unknown.

Legal forms come back in business_info.entity_type with their official code, for example 206-2 - Sociedade Empresária Limitada, 213-5 - Empresário (Individual) and 205-4 - Sociedade Anônima Fechada.
Quirks and gotchas
Country-specific behaviour to know before you integrate.

| Send the CNPJ, not a name | The lookup runs on the CNPJ in tax_identification_number. A name alone does not run the check. |
| Partners carry a role code | Partner roles come back with the register's code, for example 49-Sócio-Administrador (managing partner), 22-Sócio (partner) and 05-Administrador (administrator). |
| No ownership percentages | The partner list names partners and their roles but not their shares. Collect ownership percentages separately if you need them. |
found status | found means the CNPJ exists but no detailed status came back. It maps to Active. |
incapable is a tax status | incapable is the register's inapta status (missing tax filings). It maps to In Liquidation / Insolvency, so review these cases rather than treating them as insolvent. |
| Postal code mismatches | About 1 in 4 checks flag ADDRESS_ZIPCODE_MISMATCH because the postal code sent differs from the one on the CNPJ record. Check the address you collected before declining. |
| Foreign partners | Foreign partners show as 37-Sócio Pessoa Jurídica Domiciliado no Exterior (company) or 38-Sócio Pessoa Física Residente no Exterior (person). |
Limits
- Ownership percentages and beneficial owners are not available.
- Register documents are not available.
