Statuses and legal forms

Quirks and gotchas

Country-specific behaviour to know before you integrate.

QuirkDetails
Taxpayer type, not legal formentity_type tells you if the business is a corporation or an individual taxpayer. About 4 in 10 results are individual taxpayers (sole proprietors).
Closure date in the statusClosed businesses carry the closure date inside the status text, for example Closed Business (Date of Closure: 20250731).
Representative is a fieldThe representative's name comes back as a company field, not as a related person.
Many officer titles are UNKNOWNTitles such as Executive Director and Auditor come back with the normalised role UNKNOWN. CEO and President normalise to CONTROLLING_PERSON.

Limits

  • Officers and shareholders are returned for some corporations only.
  • UBOs and register documents are not returned.
